Finished the cloaks in one go last night, looking rather good I think.
My tweezers also arrived, for adding clumps of static grass and stuff to bases!

Skaven wash, crushed glass and snow
First off some new purchases. I was reading about how good crushed glass plus resin/PVA makes good snow. You can see below that it is a lot better than just white flock, adds real depth and also sparkles! Looks slightly transparent on the edges there but that is due to the resin not being dry. Looks even better now. It is a lot less "fluffy" (note I added my snow mix right on top of some flock there)
As for painting... A wash on the skaven. Should all be finished in one more sit down.

No Orc - all Skaven basecoat
God save the Queen and all that jazz.
Basecoat work on both cloaks and skin for 4 skaven today. Trying my hand at some batch painting.
Got a sore left elbow but started to use another hand grip instead of holding the base and that seems to have helped.

Grimgor Ironhide - Red Armour
Basically completed the armour today.
Started with a 1:3 black and scab red, then scab red, then adding in blood red and then orange.... finally a yellow glaze.
Very pleased with the results! Loads of pics!!

Grimgor Ironhide Skin, armour etc...
Quite a bit of work done - added some pink to the extreme highlight areas and it has really worked. Skin looks a lot more realistic now. I got the idea looking online... the difference between OK looking paint jobs and amazing ones seemed to be the use of other colours.
For example blues for shading and pinks in the highlights.
Also basecoated the white panels (for chek and zig zag patterns) as well as dark red base for the bright red plates.
Also a slightly rusty wash to the bar metal.

Grimgor armour painting.
Got so carried away with the chainmail there I totally forgot that a lot of his armour is going to be coloured or patterned.
I was looking at him and thought all the metal didn't look right but then thought about traditional orcs and the zig zak/chequered pattern came to mind.
scribbled something down in paint.

Grimgor Ironhide - Orc - Leather & armour
Some chainmail work on top of the tin bitz as well as some leather basecoating. I will probably paint some more chainmail on, do some washes (black/brown?) then some mythril or chainmail highlights.
Unsure on the leather, devlan wash to catch the buckle detail, then paint on quite a harsh highlight I suppose.
