Home stretch, muck about with the stone on the base a bit... tidy up the eyes, and it is pretty much done!
some pictures below of the basing process. I really want to buy some of those grass tuft things...

Dagger, hair, claws & "sculpting"
Well for tonight's session I completed the dagger, pretty much done the hair, and finished the claws.
The only thing left to do is the mouth of the cold one. I plan to do that in a dark red base, adding some purple in with a dab of bleached bone. Also got some teeth to pick out.
Just not happy with the face on this guy, but it's not getting re-done.
The whole miniature (which seems to be a manufacturing problem) leans way over to one side, the bit of rock under the cold ones foot is at a crazy angle so I had to glue it on top of some green stuff, the model still leaned over so I tried to add something to prop it up. This helps but then created a big pillar on the base.
To get round this and make the whole base a bit more natural I have "sculpted" (lol) a little hill into the base, the plan it to make the face of the hill rock... I think you can almost see I've tried to sculpt a rock face into it, the rest will be grass.
Almost there!

Sword done
Yo,
basically sorted the sword tonight.
tried a different no drybrushing allowed style this time around, as opposed to the empire general...
Might be tempted into improving contrast and shading on the cross guard.

Shield & Sword
Spent a bit of time on the shield today and just prepping the sword for further word. I thought it was important to do as good a job on the shield as possible.
So very happy with it, really enjoyed painting it. flat wash of blood red over scab red, then added some orange into the blood red and highlighted the right hand side, a red/brown wash on the left and then a careful black wash in the recesses on the left hand side.
The only things left to do are the sword, short sword, mouth, eyes & claws. Pretty sure that I can do that in one go! and it's a bank holiday Monday coming up. I can smell a new project coming on.
Also managed to remember to do a kind of stage by stage set of pictures for the shield.

Wood & leather
Getting rid of the to-do list slowly.
Completed wooden, bone and leather parts. See pics below, just the sword, hair, shield and claws to do now really. (as you can see in the picture he is nearing completion!)
Not my favourite model so far I have to say but pretty decent. I've jarred his front leg up to give the model better pose. I'll flock over that or urn it into another rock.....

Dark Elf - metal, bone
Did some work tonight, basically finished off the steel, basecoated and washed the bone/claw details, blacked out the chainmail areas.
Using my new favourite bone technique as well. Dheneb stone, devlan mud wash, add some bleached bone, then finish with skull white.
I'm still using the old paints of course..........
pics are in chronological order.... not much explaining being done, it's late.
Really want to finishe this guy in 2, 3 sessions more max. Fancy painting an Orc!
