Some chainmail work on top of the tin bitz as well as some leather basecoating. I will probably paint some more chainmail on, do some washes (black/brown?) then some mythril or chainmail highlights.
Unsure on the leather, devlan wash to catch the buckle detail, then paint on quite a harsh highlight I suppose.

Skaven - alternative picture
A picture in less harsh light and at a greater distance. Probably kinder to it as I was trying to make this as quick a job as possible.

Skaven - complete | Orc - Ribbons
Hello there,
Test Skaven has been completed - very quick job with a lot of drybrushing in the mix.
For the skin, I went talarn flesh, ogryn wash, dwarf then elf. Metal was macharius orange and scorched brown drybrushed on then drybrush of chainmail.
Bindings were the brown colour then washed with ogryn and painted dheneb.
Parchment was ogryn washed then drybrushed with dheneb and white.
Wood was brown + wash then left. The bone details wre treated as per the parchment
think thats about it...
Also basecoated the ribbon on Mr Grimgor Ironhide. Going for a yellow/purple arrangement to match my empire general.

Skaven cloak - complete - Orc metal basecoat
Finished the basecoat for the Orcs armour. lookin' good.
Mainly I have sorted the colour for the cloaks.
I used a bascoat of catachan green, then a wash with ogryn flesh (reikland shade) then back on with catachan green and highlighted up two stages with gretchin green.
Managed to cut out one colour and I reckon once the PITA basecoat is done I can batch paint tons at a time up through the highlights.
Definite speedy method nailed there! (4th pic down looks horrific but show what a wash and some tidying up can do)

Orc Armour & Skaven basecoat
Started basecoating the orc armour, thin layer of metallic paint there... the metallic paints are so much better if applied slightly thinned, negates the need for drybrushing a lot of the time in my book.
Also a quick basecoat on the skaven dude. (picture below shows paints I plan to use for reference)
Knarloc green looks nothing like that pot through, dark pigment stuck on the sides no matter how much I shake it!
Felt great to paint something quickly, I think I got a pretty accurate basecoat on it as well.
I have also taken a picture of the light reflecting off the shoulders for reference later in highlighting.
