Another couple of hours.

The only things I still have to do are the raven, (what is it they say in Game of Thrones? dark bird dark news?) and the staff pretty much.

Tried a new bone-like technique as well. Dheneb stone, Skull White, Bleachd bone combo.

He is coming together wooooo!

Njal - tokens, leather, staff etc...

Did some more work today, getting close to the end on this one.

painted around and in the runes on the staff with white, then put ice blue over them. I will then attempt to paint back around the edges.....

Everything is looking pretty good, staff is intricate as hell tho so will take a bit of time,

Njal - Leather, Fur & wolf head

Well, a few days off due to stinkin' cold.

Made some progress on the fur and the wolfskin in general. Also some more touches on the armour.

Armour - Very thin blue/black glaze over it.

Fur - some more highlights and some washes, (devlan on dark bits, sepia on light)

Wolf head - same colours as fur primarily then some washes, did blue eyes... happy with the way that turned out, used washes to shade and highlight it, kinda wet blending them

red shoulder pad - black/red wash into the runes.

Armour is pretty much done, shoulder pad pretty much there and the fur is almost there as well.

Njal - Highlighting

Have completed some work on highlighting of the armour tonight. Only things left to do are some tidying, wee bit more space wolves touch up and maybe some extreme white highlights.

Pretty happy with the way it is turning out, especially since I am trying not to take forever. Finding it very  challenging to paint this.

I will probably try and glaze over the armour with watered down wash after this to sharpen it up again.

If i'm being picky i'd say the colour is a bit off what i'd like, too much shadow grey and not enough space wolves grey (could possibly fix this), still very happy though.

Mid Tone

Just making up terms now, painting back on shadow grey.

Looking back at the pictures im going to reduce that harsh shading a bit around the legs, better too much shade than not enough I suppose.

Also stopped using the manual focus on the phone and I am just pointing and waiting for focus, seems to be allowing me to take better shots.Will try and get an outside shot of it at this stage tomorrow for comparison to the stuff below.
